University of Missouri Extension is sponsoring a workshop next week for anyone who might be interested in raising and managing a herd of bison.  The workshop July 20th will take place at Back Forty Bison outside Dadeville, hosted by owner and Missouri Bison Association President John Roller.  Extension livestock specialist Patrick Davis says Roller will help lead discussions on a variety of topics.

Davis explains some of the benefits ranchers have seen when managing bison.

University of Missouri Extension livestock specialist Patrick Davis says anyone interested in the bison production workshop can call the Dade County Extension office to register by July 19th, at 417-637-2112.  The event is free and open to the public, with a bison burger meal provided.
