A bridge north of Adrian will close beginning Monday for repairs over the next two months. Route AA in Bates County over Mormon Fork, just over a mile west of Interstate 49, will be closed so that crews can replace the bridge deck with a wider driving surface. The current bridge was built in 1962, and the Missouri Department of Transportation says deterioration of the structure had been increasing. Detours around the bridge will not be signed, and motorists will need to find an alternate route. Gene Haile Excavating of California is the prime contractor for the two-month project, at a price tag of $458,000.
