7/11-The Latest from the Henry Co. Commission

HENRY COUNTY COMMISSION, HENRY COUNTY MISSOURI
THURSDAY, JULY 5TH, 2018, 2ND DAY OF THE JULY TERM
The Henry County Commission met pursuant to adjournment at the courthouse in Clinton, Missouri.
Those members present were: Jim Stone-Presiding Commissioner
Dale Lawler-South District Commissioner
Rick Fosnow-North District Commissioner
Rick Watson-County Clerk
Amy Heredia-Deputy County Clerk
The agenda was approved as presented.
At 9:07 a.m. Commissioner Stone brought the meeting to order.
The minutes from the Tuesday July 3, 2018 meeting were read. Commissioner Fosnow made a motion
to approve the minutes. Commissioner Lawler seconded the motion, motion carried.
Expenditures for the following departments were approved to be paid:
Tri County Child Support Inmate Security Road and Bridge
August Elections Law Enforcement Fund
Repairs made on the overhead doors at the jail were discussed.
The group discussed hosting the West Central Commissioners meeting in September.
There was discussion regarding the petition to close Graham road outside of Urich. The public hearing
was set for Tuesday October 9, 2018.
County Clerk Rick Watson shared of the security upgrades to the courthouse. There was discussion
regarding the remodel on the Public Administrators Office, vandalism on the Bandstand, and Board of
Equalization appointments.
There was discussion regarding bridge projects.
The commission returned a call to James Baker to discuss 100 Rd and Vansant, as there are numerous
speeders. He requested that the road be widened. Commissioner Stone shared that a meeting in the past
between the County and the City of Clinton proved to be too costly to widen, curb, and gutter the cross
roads.
The commission discussed a vacancy on the Senior Citizens Service Tax Board.
At 11:00 a.m. Charlie Kidwiler visited with the commission to request the County pay for half the rock
necessary to bring Division Road up to the standards required to classify it as a county road. The
commissioners reiterated the necessary steps to be taken and petition required, they also stated that no
tax payer money can be spent on a road that is not a county road.
The commission discussed security cameras.
