PANEL OF IOWA FARMERS REMAIN SUPPORTIVE OF TRUMP TRADE POLICY

Members of a key demographic that elected Donald Trump to the White House say they are confident in the president’s trade tactics.  At a recent Republican roundtable in Iowa, a panel of six farmers across the state expressed continued confidence in spite of the escalating trade war that threatens their businesses.  Fox 42 in Omaha quotes Central Iowa farmer Norman Rozendaal referring to the current trade dispute as, “a pimple on the acne face of life.”  Rozendaal added that that he’s willing to take the hit because he believes it will heal over and he’ll be able to smile when looking back at a fairer trading field.  His fellow panelists agreed that they would be willing to go through the short-term damage if it eventually leads to a solid long-term trade deal.  Not all farmers share their opinions, as several joined protestors opposing the president’s visit to Dubuque last month.
