11/3-Sometimes, the scoreboard WILL lie

Good Morning,
I would like to share a few things with each of you as we wrap up a successful football season. Our football team finished a very competitive and positive season with a loss to Cassville 35-0 last night. While the end result was not what we wanted, there were many positives that came from the opportunity.  First, our players were able to experience a playoff atmosphere, something that CHS had not accomplished since the 1991 season. We also had the opportunity to take 40 kids on a three hour pep-bus road trip to support the team. Both the team and the pep-bus stopped in Springfield to eat on the way to Cassville.  While leaving, our staff and students were given complements on their behavior by the restaurant staff and even got a nice complement from a gentleman and his wife that were passing through Springfield from out of state. Throughout the night, we had numerous people from Cassville tell us they were very impressed with our school spirit and the level of class displayed by our entire school community in attendance.  Already feeling very proud of our students, I received the email below this morning from MSHSAA in reference to our football team. The type of effort and character displayed last evening epitomizes why 10 of the young men received all-conference awards and also why Coach Chris Smoot was voted the West Central Conference Coach of the Year.  All great reasons that it is a great day to be a Cardinal!
We have had a great start to the school year throughout the district and I want to thank all of you for setting a great example for our young students!!

GO CARDINALS!!

Explanation:
The Clinton High School football team & coaching staff were a pleasure to work for. Coach Smoot is to be commended for sportsmanship displayed by his players & staff. The team even shook the officials' hands at the end of the game (in defeat). This group of young men are an example that more schools could learn from.

From David Lee;  I certainly agree with everything that's been said recently about the Clinton School District, it's students and athletes, coaches and others.  They are all GREAT to work with!  Over the past year or so, a real family atmosphere has developed with this school system and will continue to grow stronger on a daily basis.

I would also like to thank everyone with the Cassville School District with their help in making our broadcast a successful one Wed. night.  They were also GREAT to work with.  dlee
