1/31-Travel Advisory

MoDOT/Southwest Winter Travel Advisory:
Friday into Saturday, Jan. 31-Feb. 1

Freezing rain, freezing drizzle and snow possible starting Friday morning through Saturday.   Drivers are urged to slow down and allow extra travel time during the period.

Weather Forecast: Rain and possibly freezing rain are forecasted to begin during the early morning hours of Friday morning. Rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow are possible at times throughout the day Friday, Friday night and Saturday.
Road Clearing: MoDOT crews will be out starting early Friday morning head of the storm.  They will treat and plow roads as necessary.  Even though temperatures at times will be above freezing, ground temperatures will be below freezing which will cause roads to become slick.  MoDOT crews will be out but will not be able to be everywhere at once.  Crews will focus first on the major routes, but will make every effort to treat hills, curves and intersections on lesser traveled routes as time allows.
Travel Conditions: Roads will be slick in areas where rain, freezing rain, freezing drizzle and snow are falling.  Drivers are urged to slow down and expect rapidly changing road conditions. Please allow extra travel time to your destination.
