Dear Friends and Family,
Like most of us, I know too many people whose lives have been touched by Alzheimer’s disease, the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death. I lost my Mother to this terrible disease over a decade ago. That’s why I’m joining the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® on 05/03/2014 in Clinton.

Blood Drive Coming Up in Clinton

Clara Barton was born in 1821 in Massachusetts. She became a teacher, worked in the U.S. Patent Office and was an independent nurse during the Civil War helping soldiers in any way she could. She first saw combat in Fredericksburg, Virginia in 1862 and cared for soldiers wounded at Antietam. She was nicknamed “Angel of the Battlefield” for her work.

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. – The sight of a beautiful orange and black monarch butterfly in Missouri is likely to be less common this year, but you may be able to help the ones that do arrive here. A January 2014 report from their overwintering forest areas in Mexico indicated that only 1.65 acres were occupied by monarchs this winter.
